During early Showa, before the war, most of houses did not have a bath or shower of their own, explaining the popularity of Sento and Onsen in Japan. Both are public baths; Sento usually use heated tap water, while Onsen are natural hot springs. Kikunoyu is said to be the best sento in town, offering jet, herbal, sitting baths, and even a sauna. Be ready to be blown away by the painting of Mount Fuji on the wall.
